Costco Wholesale has launched on DoorDash Marketplace across the US. The move marks the latest expansion of DoorDash and Costco’s global relationship, which currently spans Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Iceland and Puerto Rico.

Costco ranked among the most searched retailers not yet available on DoorDash. Its members can now order groceries, pantry staples, household essentials, electronics, seasonal merchandise, Kirkland Signature products and more from all Costco warehouses nationwide through DoorDash for same-day delivery.

“Costco members have been asking for Costco on DoorDash, and today we’re delivering,” says Mike Goldblatt, Vice President of Enterprise Partnerships at DoorDash. “By pairing Costco’s quality, value and selection with DoorDash’s reach and local delivery network, we’re giving members more flexibility in how they shop. The US launch also marks the next chapter in a global partnership already serving Costco members around the world.”

With Costco onboard, DoorDash now partners with eight of the ten largest food retailers in North America, according to Progressive Grocer’s PG 100.

Instacart

Earlier this year, Instacart and Costco Wholesale announced the expansion of their North American partnership into Europe, with the launch of Costco’s first ever same-day delivery websites in France and Spain, powered by Instacart’s Storefront Pro commerce platform and fulfillment solutions services.

Costco members in France and Spain can now shop online and receive delivery through its websites in each country. The initial roll-out includes delivery from all locations in France and Spain, including the Paris metropolitan area and Mulhouse in France, as well as Bilbao, Madrid, Seville, and Zaragoza in Spain.

Orders are fulfilled and delivered from the store to the member’s door. Instacart is teaming with European partner companies in each country at launch for the picking, packing and delivery of orders. Members will also be able to get same as-in-store pricing.

So hot right now

Instacart is included in RTIH’s first ever Retail Technology Hot 100 List. Launching in August, this sees us bringing you the hottest companies whose solutions and systems are helping drive the retail sector forward.

Our Founder and Editor, Scott Thompson, drew up a list of 150 companies that had consistently been on his radar over the past 12 months whilst bringing our community the latest retail tech news and views that matter. These companies operate across the omnichannel retail landscape (stores, online, mobile, supply chain, payments etc).

Our judging panel, including Vineta Bajaj, Group CFO, Holland & Barrett, Dan McGrath, JD Group Customer Operations, JD Sports, Dr. Astha Purohit, Director of Product Management, Customer Data and Identity, Walmart, and Paula Bobbett, Chief Data and Digital Officer, Boots, provided feedback on those who have the most innovative, forward thinking technology offerings and are also best addressing retailers' current challenges, painpoints, and opportunities.

The judges used the following framework when making their picks:

1. Retailer problem fit - how meaningful, strategic, and widely felt the retailer pain being addressed is.
2. Production traction in retail (2025–2026) - real named retailer deployments, pilots.
3. Innovation and defensibility - genuine technical novelty paired with a defensible competitive position.

And there was also a public vote, with thousands of members of our community of retail tech enthusiasts getting involved. Thanks to all those who took part! Based on the judging panel's feedback and the public vote, we then drew up our first ever RTIH Retail Technology Hot 100.

So, without further ado, here are the 100 hottest global retail technology ventures right now. Drum roll, please…
